Watercolours, travels and moments of life

ORIGINALS & LIMITED EDITIONS

I am Thibaut Abadie Garcia, a watercolour artist and art director. Alongside my design work, I am developing a personal watercolour practice, fed by my travels, the places I pass through and the small moments of everyday life.

MOMENTS

TO KEEP

A landscape, a scene from life, a particular light or a few colours are sometimes enough to give birth to an image.

Through my watercolours, I try less to reproduce faithfully what I see than to capture what I keep from it: an atmosphere, a feeling, a memory.

My sketchbooks become a collection of moments, between observation, experimentation and interpretation.

Some of these watercolours remain original drawings. Others become limited-edition art prints, designed to extend these memories beyond the sketchbook.

A WATERCOLOUR A
DAY, OR NEARLY

In August 2026, I started sharing my work on social media.

This experience produced 29 drawings, from seascapes and surf scenes to more abstract studies.

This daily practice let me explore a more spontaneous approach to the image, far from the usual constraints of my graphic design projects.

Each watercolour became a way of documenting a place, a light or a feeling.

Du carnet au papier: from sketchbook to paper

After this summer series, I wanted to extend the experience by giving six of these illustrations a new life.

Selected and carefully reworked, they make up my first collection of art prints dedicated to Biarritz and the Basque coast.

Each composition keeps the date, time and geographical coordinates of the moment it shows.

It is a way of linking the image to a precise memory, like a page from a travel journal.

Limited-edition art prints

Each illustration is reproduced on Rives Natural 270 gsm fine paper, chosen for its feel and texture.

The collection comes in A4 format (21 × 29.7 cm), in a limited edition of 30 copies per illustration, with no reprints.

Each print is signed and numbered by hand and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

These editions are designed as objects to keep, to give or to bring into your everyday life.

Between art and graphic design

My art practice and my work as an art director feed each other.

Watercolour gives me a more instinctive space for experimentation, where accidents, textures and colours play an essential role.

Graphic design then comes in through how I select, compose and give an editorial form to these images.

Two complementary approaches, brought together by the same attention to detail and visual storytelling.
